Itzadragon is an artistic name created by Rocío Isabel aka Itza, a Chilean-British cultural activist, writer and musician based in the Herefordshire countryside, England, UK.
Itzadragon is inspired by the ancient wisdom of the dragon archetypes, especially by the mythic ‘Maya Dragon’, mostly known as the Feathered Bird-Serpent ‘Kukulkan’. Born in Chile and raised in Argentina and Mexico, Itza was introduced to Maya culture by her Anthropologist mother. Her birthday on the 21st of September synchronises with the Equinox, the International Day of Peace and the visual sign of the ‘Maya Dragon’ descending the stairs on the Pyramid of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza. She is decoded a Galactic Dragon (Kin 21) in the Maya Dreamspell Tzolkin (DreamTime) and 2 Akbal (2 Night Jaguar) in the Ancient Maya Tzolkin (RealTime).
Music Channelling by Itzadragon
Itzadragon is a sonic channeller, vocalist and music curator. She began playing guitar, flute and singing folk music when she was a teen. She started DJing in 2002 under the alias of Dew, playing Downtempo Electronica and PsyProg in the emerging electronic scenes of Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Since 2013, she signs as Itzadragon and has focused on evoking ancient, spiritual, ethnic, organic and psychedelic soundscapes. She designs unique conceptual sets of Ritual Ambient, Mystic Downtempo, Conscious PsyBass & PsyDub, Midtempo Bass and Uptempo PsyProg.
Each sonic journey created by Itzadragon has a unique mystical alchemy of soundscapes, in harmony with the vibrations of the land and context where she channels the music or with a special wisdom she resonates within.
On the music production side, Itzadragon has produced remixes for her sonic journeys, including vocal remixes & bootlegs, re-edits and mash-ups. She also has professional experience as music curator, including compilations and artists for music labels, as well as lineup programmes for gatherings in Chile since 1997 (Earthdance, Dreamscape, Honu Eclipse, Earthfest), Argentina (Moonbow 2002-2004), Hungary (S.U.N. 2015-2016) and the UK (Magikana, Earthdance Wales), amongst others.
Itzadragon has performed at special gatherings in the UK, such as Magikana Festival (Wales), Eden Festival (Scotland), Earthdance Wales, Cosmic Edinburgh, Psychometric Liverpool and Alien Resonance (Merseyside). She has also played at Voov-Experience (Vuuv) in Germany, Celebra Brazil by Etnica Net, S.U.N. Festival in Hungary, Moonflower (Argentina Patagonia), and also at her own festivals in Chile (Earthdance, Earthfest, Honu Eclipse, Dreamscape), amongst others.
Inspirational Writings by Itzadragon
Itza works on two types of inspirational writings, both in English and Spanish: Mystical Writing signed as Itzadragon, and Academic Writing signed as Isabel Gallardo-Jones. The former is focused on Ancient-Future Mysticism, New Age Mayanism, Maya Dreamspell Oracle, 19:19 Crystal Matrix, in the form of blog writing and philosophical essays. The latter is based on Ancient Maya Cosmology scholarship, including academic essays, scholarly research and investigative journalism.
Itza is a highly educated native Spanish speaker with certified Cambridge English bilingual proficiency. She holds a First Class BA(Hons) in Communication and Media Studies and a PGDip in Journalism by the University of Chile. She has also undertaken undergraduate studies in Philosophy, and is currently pursuing an MA on Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in the UK.
Organiser of Transformational Gatherings
Itzadragon has organised chill out spaces and transformational gatherings for over 20 years. In 1996, she co-founded Dreamvibe alongside Chilean pioneer Nacho aka Cl.ear. Dreamvibe evolved as a collective team bringing the first chill out zones and psytrance nights in the emerging electronic music scene in Chile. Inspired by British festival culture, Itza seeded the transformational festival culture in Chile, founding Earthdance Chile in 1998, part of Earthdance International initiative for a Free Tibet. Between 1998-2008, Earthdance Chile turned into the biggest Earthdance festival worldwide alongside Earthdance Cape Town. As Earthdance Ambassador for South America, Itza also organised the first participation of Earthdance Sao Paulo (Brazil), Earthdance Buenos Aires & Cordoba (Argentina) and Earthdance Cuzco (Peru).
In 1999, Itza attended the Total Solar Eclipse at the Lizard Point, Cornwall (UK), and connected with Return to the Source (RTTS), Earthdance (HQ), Blue Room, Kundalini, amongst other tribes of alternative music and arts back in the day. In 2002, her Dreamvibe collective acted as Ambassador for the Ypy Poty Gathering, the first international psyfestival in Brazil organised by the Boom Festival Team and the local Daime Tribe. In 2004, she met her English husband Magusa (Magikana & Alien Resonance) and together they started co-organising mythic gatherings in Chile and Polynesia, such as Dreamscape (Lake District), Honu Eclipse (Easter Island) and Earthfest (Andean Mountains). Since 2008, Itza started co-organising Magikana Festival (Wales, UK) alongside Magusa, as well as Earthdance Wales.
Peace Activism by Itzadragon
Itza became an activist for Global Peace and Consciousness when she first joined the Earthdance International initiative for a Free Tibet in 1998. During this edition, Earthdance Chile raised over USD $3000 for the Tibetan orphan children home called ‘Earthdance’ in Dharamsala, India. Because of this, she had the honour to personally meet His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, in a private hearing in Santiago, Chile in 1999. Since then, Itza fully focused on the spiritual contents of Earthdance Chile, creating a spiritual zone presenting Tibetan Buddhism, Osho Zen Buddhism, Native American Wisdom, Maya Dreamspell, Hare Krishna, Vedic Wisdom, Sacred Geometry, Yoga, amongst others.
Itza has been an activist of multiple Global Peace Meditations for more than 20 years. Between 1998 and 2008, she channelled the local ‘Prayer for Peace’ of Earthdance Chile, along with her beloved soul sisters Darshan (Osho Sanyyasine) and Maca Arcoriris (Tibetan Buddhist). In 2013, she created the ‘Invoking the Divine Feminine Prayer’, an invocation aligned with the Dimensional Shift of 2012-2013 and the Full Moon of July 2013, which was synchronised at Magikana Festival, UK. In 2014, Itza designed ‘Sonic Journey for Peace‘, a 21-minute Sonic Mediation channelled in Earthdance Wales. In 2015, Itza alongside Magusa co-created the 19-minute ‘Day 241 Crystal Merkaba Mediation‘, the sonic holographic meditation of the visionary 19:19 Crystal Matrix. Itza also conceived the ‘Unify DreamPeace’ a series of 3 x 11-minute meditations via Tortuga 13:20 for the Planet Art Network synchronised meditations supporting Peace Day. In 2020, Itza conceived the ‘Harmonic 33 Mediation’, a 33-minute Peace Meditation for the Planet Art Network, which was initiated with the 33rd Anniversary of the Harmonic Convergence (16-17 August 1987-2020), the first synchronised global meditation in human history.
